can you believe we're up to puzzle #48? where has the year gone? as there are only a few weeks left in year 1 of outside the box puzzles, i thought it would be a good time to describe how this month is going to wind down.

two items of note in the puzzle world: first, lollapuzzoola 9 is coming up on august 13 in nyc. as always, it'll be a great time. i'll be there! will you?
second, loan shark games (mike selinker & friends) has an intriguing humble puzzle bundle on sale, with some fraction of the proceeds (you can decide how much) to charity. it's a ton of great puzzle books from top puzzlemakers at a pay-what-you-want price. check it out!

this is the last time i'm going to plug what's that spell, the puzzle hunt project on kickstarter from nathan curtis. the deadline to back the project is in two days, and there are already a ton of awesome stretch goals that have been reached (including, most recently, an entire second puzzle hunt from denis & marc moskowitz).

i'm really pleased to announce that nathan curtis's puzzlehunt kickstarter has passed $6500 in funding, which activates my variety puzzle stretch goal. i'm excited at the thought of it already!

i did an interview with nathan curtis for his kickstarter project because the next guest constructor stretch goal ($6500, currently a little less than $1000 away) is a variety puzzle by me. if you haven't backed the project yet, go have a look! the interview ought to be findable over there under "updates" at some point today.

in you missed my post from yesterday's variety puzzle, don't miss nathan curtis's puzzle hunt kickstarter project, which is now fully funded and (as of this writing) very close to its second stretch goal: a jeffrey harris variety puzzle. (ooh!)
