two little announcements about today's puzzle: first, one of my test solvers pointed out that in the clue list, it would make more sense to list medium blooms before light blooms, since the top blooms in the grid are medium. i agreed, so i've made the change, starting now.

there's a very timely reference in one of the clues in this week's puzzle. if you end up solving it on a day that's not today, i guess take note of the date at the top of the puzzle.
the seed for week's rows garden was inspired by ... last week's rows garden. i love it when that happens. (spoilers for last week's puzzle after the jump.)
three of my test-solvers told me this one was really hard. i eased up on just a couple of clues, and then another said, "i think this was my fastest solve yet!" so... who knows? links after the jump.
i'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out.

in the comments section last week, al sanders said "Wow, Joon, you're giving PB1 [patrick berry] a run for his money on these!" high praise indeed. i've taken it to heart by ripping off one of patrick's brilliant clues in this week's puzzle.
